Heaven Yes, Or, Heaven No
By Lance Landall

“ ‘And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the leastof these my brethren, you did it to me.’ ‘Then He will say to those on the left hand ,‘Depart from me, youcursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels’ ” (Matt 25:40,41, NKJV).

You may not like what I say, you may not like what I do,
But how you choose to treat me, could prove pivotal for you.
God Himself, loves me dearly, though chief of sinners I be,
And He’s watching intently, how you’re responding to me.

Treating me wrongly, is sin, for I’m a ward of the King,
Who loves me as His own child, though I’m of earthly offspring.
Those who hurt or mistreat me, will pain and offend my Lord,
For He, considers all precious, and wounding, He has outlawed.

Christ bore the brunt of my sins, when He suffered on Calvary,
Knowing, I’d still let Him down, willfully, or unconsciously.
He’s given an example, of the love, you too, should show
Not just me, but all He died for, and cares for, exceedingly so.

I’m a child of the King, who, an angel’s granted to me,
One who each and every day, my welfare, must oversee.
This angel keeps a record, of what’s said and done to me,
For such concerns Christ greatly, who watches, protectively.

Should it be, you don’t like me, you’re to love me, Christ has said,
For if such love is absent, clearly, we’re not Spirit led.
God even loves His enemies, and says, we’re to act the same
If eternal life we want, and the right, to claim His name.

When my Saviour looks at me, tender pity fills His heart,
For He knows how I stagger, each time Satan hurls a dart.
But should you aid this devil, when he seeks to injure me,
You’ll pierce the heart of Christ, have Satan claiming victory.

Yes, I’m the King’s creation, those who wound me, wound my Lord,
Thus, how you choose to treat me, will determine your reward.
How we’ve treated each other, Heaven’s record books will show,
And Christ, by our name will stamp, Heaven yes, or, Heaven no.

“The children of God and the children of the devil are revealed in this way: all who do not do what is right are not from God, nor are those who do not love their brothers and sisters” (1 John 3:10).
