Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
Poetry and Music By Andrew Pell

Do we not tremble and fall down before the Lord of Hosts?
Are we that proud and arrogant that all we can do is boast?
Yet the omnipotent and omnipresent keeps the Universe on course.
Sometimes God must look at man and feel great remorse.
God is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega.
Yet, when it comes to worship God, we do not appear too eager.
The Six winged Seraphs cover their faces before the throne.
The twenty-four elders praise God continuously in a uniformed tone.
The entire heavenly realm falls on their knees.
To mankind he unlocks the door and holds out the Keys.
So we may freely enter his Kingdom with joy.
Yet we are content to worship economic models and toys.
The light from the throne shines through the darkest night.
All we want to do is run from the light.
The Light of lights shines on the earth from the realms of endless day.
The whole earth is overshadowed by God’s eternal sway.
