MEMORIES
By M. Linda Steffey

A wild daisy stood
At the edge of the wood
By a brook in the brightness
Of sun..
It danced in the breeze
With such graceful ease
And lived life in silence
'Til done...

In winter I came
But it wasn't the same
For the Daisy had left in
The fall...
I was sad not to see
The fragile daisy..
But was glad my mind's eye
Could recall...

It left not a trace
Of it's beauty and grace
Not a clue it was ever there...
But how good to remember
In the cold of December
When the earth's all cold and
Bare...

When life is over
Let your sad heart recover...then
Then think back on the life which has
Passed...
It's sweet memory
Keeps it close to thee
And forever it will last and
Last....
