The poets and philosophers- -
All those of sensitivity- -
Have always faced the problem of
The struggle of duality.
Of warring selves, two halves that hold,
One to spirit, one to gold;
One to death and one to life- -
Always, this unending strife.
And now the scientific man
At last, begins to understand:
He hails this old discovery
As if it was his prodigy.
But truth was published long ago;
Perhaps someday man will outgrow
The unbelief that needs to see
Dissection’s trail of agony.
