I’d like you to imagine, that you’ve purchased a Rolls-Royce;
I can see you phoning friends, there’s excitement in your voice.
Once you have finished chatting, you’re seen driving it around,
Enjoying the attention, this valuable car has found.

Once back inside your driveway, you give it a wax and shine,
Uttering admiringly, “And to think that it’s all mine.”
Every day from that point on, it’s lavished with tender care,
For you believe it’s worth it, and mistreat it, you wouldn’t dare.

You make sure that it’s serviced; believe in preventive care,
Knowing, should you neglect such, it’ll fall into disrepair.
You know all the do’s and don’ts, for you’ve an owner’s handbook,
But should there be a problem, it’s inside that book you’ll look.

’Though knowing that it’s well made, built to last a lifetime too,
You’re aware it can be harmed, even destroyed, ’though brand-new.
So, you do all you can do, to make sure that it will last,
Lest it be, it soon expire, or, deteriorate fast.

Yes, I dare say you’d act this way, because most people would,
If they could buy a Rolls-Royce; and such a response is good.
But the question I must ask, is, do you act the same way,
Regarding your own body, for such care, all should display?

Sadly, many people don’t, hence their suffering and pain,
Which could have been avoided, had they let common sense reign.
We can’t abuse our body, without paying a high price,
Hence why many have ill health, and why many, with death dice.

So many harm their bodies, via food they shouldn’t consume,
And then wonder why ill health, at some stage, begins to bloom.
Our body’s eco-system should be treated with great care,
Lest it become unbalanced, and health issues soon appear.
