Animal Rights, Spiritual and Inspirational poetry that touch the heart and soul, and provoke the mind.
A little less each day
you say,
You’re really lucky”
or
“You’re welcome”
to the scraggly
bedraggled
undernourished
orphaned
animal
that, with a sigh
of reluctance,
you brought into
your home.
A little less
each day
the chores
and challenges
of animal care
feel like
an added burden.
A little more each day
you find yourself
less irritable,
more relaxed.
A little more
each day
you find yourself
almost eager
for the contact,
the companionship.
A little more
each day
you find yourself
smiling,
even laughing
and saying,
“Thank you.”
