THE FRAGILE VOICE
Poetry by M. Linda Steffey

The fragile voice of singing
From God's feathered souls
Oh how my spirits lift
When I hear..
On such a wonderous sunny day
To hear the voice of cheer
To see their flash of color
Whenever they fly near...

Tiny song birds, specks of Life
Dressed in silky down
Aviators swift you are
Dwell in country, town
If ever you are gone from us
The world how sad will be
Not to have such joyous life
Sitting in our trees...

And what a silent world we'll have
No joy, no singing voice
The singing bird was given earth
For that was God's choice..
When morning comes I awake
And listen to their song
To their sweet and fragile voice
Sweet music all day long....
