If you received a call at 11pm on Friday evening asking you to drive
11 hours to rescue two orphaned bear cubs - would you do it?
Our team in Vietnam does, of course.
The Lai Chau police found the two tiny cubs packed in a sack, ready
to be sold to a trader. They confiscated them, arrested the man who
wanted to sell them and asked FOUR PAWS for support.
After another 11 hour drive on Sunday, the little orphans safely
arrived in our BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh.
Our dedicated team is taking care of the little ones around the
clock. But we urgently need your support to secure the funds for
their intensive care.
They are so tiny, weighing only 5.3 and 7.2lbs!
Even though they are very small and have experienced the trauma of
losing their mother, both seem to be in a good health and stand a
good chance of making it through. Both are females and we named them
Bé (meaning “little/ small”) and Em (meaning “little sister”).
They need intensive care and monitoring to replace the love they
should be getting from their mother.
Despite her difficult start to life, Bé is already very boisterous
and playful. Her little sister Em is a bit more reserved, but also
she is starting to feel at home.
Usually we have time to plan a rescue and secure funds first. But in
cases like Bé’s and Em´s, we needed to act fast.
This is why we urgently need to ask for your help. Will you make a
gift to support Bé’s and Em’s intensive care? Will you make sure
that they can recover from the loss of their mother?
