INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS
In the last month of June 2013, the Brazilian government, through the
Ministry of the Environment, passed a regulation that allows any citizen who
has illegally purchased a wild animal (wildlife trafficking), to remain in
possession of that animal, even if witnessed by environmental authorities.
This legislation, known as CONAMA Resolution 457, represents a serious
environmental setback in Brazil.
The attitude of the Brazilian government means, in practice, the legalization of wildlife trafficking. It is a direct affront to all people and environmental organizations that fight against this criminal activity.
Please sign and participate! Divulge this initiative and help save millions of wild animals that are illegally removed from the Brazilian wilderness every year.
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
