[NOTE: VICTORY! March 2015. Washington's legislature shelved the dangerous "ag-gag" bill introduced this year. House Bill (H.B.) 1104 aimed to criminalize recording at agricultural facilities, threatening the right of citizens to document cruelty to animals. The bill failed to advance past the Public Safety Committee following fervent opposition from dedicated activists concerned about the welfare of farmed animals.]

The Washington House of Representatives has just introduced House Bill (H.B.) 1104, which could stop vital work by investigators exposing routine, often violent, and criminal abuse of animals in the factory-farming industry.
If passed, this "ag-gag" bill would make it a crime to document abuse on a factory farm without the owner's consent—evidence which, in the past, has led to criminal charges and convictions around the country after revealing that workers spraypainted animals in the face, beat them with metal rods, stomped on them, and much more.
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
