James Dobson, Bear Killer

This is a prime example of what a hijacked religion Christianity is, and how far from God's grace most self-proclaimed "Christians" truly deviate.

Now, one powerful evangelical owner of a televangelist empire, Rev. James Dobson, appears recently in a news story reportedly slaughtering a bear on a hunting trip just for the sadistic thrill of it, and on top of that, shows off his crime to the world by jeering and taunting at any compassionate kind-hearted person who would be hurt by seeing such cruelty.

This comes from a man that claims to speak God's word and teach the lessons of love and compassion taught by Jesus Christ. It is sad that this evil man's actions and opinions may reflect the values of much of modern Western Christendom. May God have mercy.

Story below:

Capitol Hill Blue - September 23, 2006

When he's not taking aim at liberal politicians or the forces of evil, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson has a different target: bears.

Dobson, who leads one of the biggest evangelical Christian media empires in the world, took a break from a Values Voter Summit Friday, to tell a standing-room only crowd about a recent hunting trip.

Long story short: a bear crept a little too close for comfort, so Dobson said he fired a single shot and sent him to meet his maker.

"We had a lot of fun," Dobson said, pausing. "Those of you who don't like hunting and that story offends you, get over it."

He said that the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) called him recently. "PETA called and asked if there was some way we could work together," Dobson said. To which Tony Perkins, leader of the Family Research Council, quipped: "Did you tell them they could carry the bear out for you?"
