Caribbean Vegan Buffet with Kirtan - Saturday, May 18, Petersburgh NY
The Berkshire Vegan Network will host a Caribbean Vegan Buffet with Kirtan on Saturday, May 18, 2013, starting at (the time is TBA, it will be in the afternoon – further info to come) at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall (Petersburgh Community Center), 71 Main St, Petersburgh, NY (located near the intersection of Routes 2 & 22).
The event will consist of a catered Vegan West Indian Caribbean-style late-lunch buffet, catered by the “First Choice Caribbean Restaurant”, of Troy, NY, followed by the “Devi Kirtan Band”, performing East Indian-style music. There will be an admission of $21.00 per person, which will include admission, hall rental, buffet & musical entertainment.
Lunch will be served at 1:00 PM. To keeps costs at a minimum, EVERYONE MUST BRING THEIR OWN PLATES, CUPS AND UTENSILS (Thank-you!). There is a kitchen available for rinsing your stuff afterwards. For extra comfort, you may wish to bring a cushion to sit on for the music (there are tables and chairs there for everyone).
The ever-popular First Choice Caribbean Restaurant is located in Troy, NY, and will be preparing a special all-vegan fare for this event. Herbal iced tea will also be included.
The Devi Kirtan Band is centered in Shaftbury, VT. DEVI means "the shining one," in Sanskrit. The members of this band seek to open up to the Goddess, to channel her beauty and power through them in song, and to celebrate the One Light that shines from each of us as we open our hearts.
