VEGAN SUMMER PICNIC AT GRAFTON STATE PARK
(16 miles from Williamstown)

Has the state of the world got you down? Is the plight of animals still looking bleak? Do you find the world is just not going vegan? (yet) Away with those clouds of gloom! Let's stop, and have a little fun!

GRAFTON, NY: The Berkshire Vegetarian Network will host an all-vegan potluck/gathering in the beautiful Grafton State Park on Sunday, June 19, 2011 starting at 12:00 PM. Grafton State Park has an entry fee of $8.00 per car, which includes all the amenities of the park, including the use of “New York’s best freshwater beach”, boat rentals (fee charged), and 25 miles of hiking trails, for the entire day. For further information on the park, including park regs, see: http://www.nysparks.com/parks/info.asp?parkId=116  It's a great idea to carpool, if you can.

The public is invited to the Vegan Gathering, which takes place at the “Rabbit Run Pavilion”, (near lakeside), at Grafton State Park. Each participant is asked to bring a vegan entrée (a dish free of all animal products including dairy and eggs) to feed 10 people. A contribution of $3.00 per person ($1.00 for kids) to offset rental costs.

The Potluck dining will take place from around 1:00 to 2:00. Attendees should bring their own plates, utensils, and serving ware.

There will be music by Barry Hyman, a man of many musical talents. Possibly guest speakers, more music & entertainment (in the works). We encourage you to bring musical instruments & drums.

In order to help us plan better, an RSVP to this email would be appreciated.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, or something comfortable to rest on, and bring insect repellant. There are wooden picnic tables provided under cover. Dogs are OK (on leash only). Coolers are OK. There is no rain date.
