Hi JB:

Thanks for writing. Weíll do our best to answer your questions.

First of all, remember that Godís creation and heavenly intent is that there be no suffering or death.

All the flesh eating occurred after the Fall; so, all the raising, killing, and eating of animals is part of this corrupt world, which is not part of Godís heavenly will.

It is best to read the Old Testament in the light of Jesusí peaceful teachings, which include bring our Fatherís heavenly will to earth as it is in heaven.

Just as Jesus taught that it wasnít Godís will for a man to give a certificate of divorce to his wife, and that Moses only allowed it because of the hardness of heart of the people, we believe that this same understanding also applies to raising and killing animals.

As for the flood, we are told that the whole world was corrupted, which seems to imply that humans had somehow corrupted the animals.

We hope this helps and look forward to hearing back from you.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
