Animals as Food
Comments by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 23 Apr 2011

Dear Chip:

Thank you for writing back and for your comments.

We kept rereading your comments about agreeing that we could skip the eating of meat, and then saying that we should also enjoy God's gifts, which we assumed included animal products, and kept seeing the same contradiction that most people seem to have. We should be enjoying all of the gifts that God created for us to have in Eden, and at the same time we would allow the animals to enjoy them, too, for there would be no pain, suffering, or exploitation.

There is also no suffering or death in heaven, and Jesus teaches us to pray that our Father's heavenly will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. Shouldn't we then do everything in our power to help it come to pass?

Even though there may be some places in the world where food is scarce, and we don't believe that you are in one of them, and as we begin to switch to a plant food diet, there will be more food available to feed the starving and malnourished people of the world.

After reading about your health problems, we now consider you to be a pre-vegan. Don't forget that the cell wall of all animal flesh, including fish, are composed of cholesterol, and eggs are loaded with it, and plant foods are not. Have you looked at our recipe section?

And, no, we couldn't hate you, we just want to reach out and help people see and learn about the things we have, because many years ago we were in the same boat that you were and still are to some extent. We are now in our seventies and take no medications, and rarely see a physician except for check-ups, and we attribute it all to the Lord and our compassionate vegan diet.

We look forward to hearing from you again.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
