Gen 4: Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the
course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to
the Lord. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the
firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,
5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very
angry, and his face was downcast.
This certainly implies some type of sacrificial system was in place even
before the flood.
Why is it so hard to believe that God created a system for men to keep that
pointed them to the final sacrifice for their sin? This is why the CVA
will never have the credibility it needs to really affect change in the
Christian community, IMHO.
Why is it necessary to tear passages out of the Bible that disagree with
a dogma? Don't they, the meat eaters, do the very same thing and you
despise them for it? If there is no common ground to stand on, but
shifting sands of our own design, then how can any realization of truth be
agreed upon? The Word of God stands, men and their ideas come and
go...
Its very sad that God's Holy Word is held in such low esteem by people who
claim to know Him and love Him. I'll prefer to think that my mind is
to not big enough to comprehend the purposes and plans of the God who
created all things for HIS glory, not mine.
God Bless,
Elaine
