Mike,
I lived in the Philippines for 3 years. The Filipinos regularly ate dogs. The awful part was that they tortured the dogs for hours/days because they believed the meat would be more "tender." I once witnessed with my own eyes a Filipino man set fire to a stray dog and he SCREAMED as he burned to death. I will never, ever forget that and it's one of the many reasons I'm an animal activist.
