No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Manipulation – 16 August 2006

Have you noticed how animal issues are manipulated in the news? Ignoring the routine, round-the-clock atrocities suffered by billions of animals in the huge flesh, dairy, and egg industries, the news media choose to present a token animal situation to satisfy the public. A current example is the orphaned manatee shown on network TV. This “tokenism” keeps the public away from any “disturbing” news concerning the plight of animals that might “offend” the viewers and cause them to wake up to the truth of the enormous suffering going on constantly.

It is obvious that the networks dare not offend the powerful companies who pay millions of dollars to have their commercials aired. And have you noticed how the audience is inundated by commercials paid for by producers of foods full of flesh, dairy, and eggs? One ad after another – hamburgers, eggs, hot dogs, chicken noodle soup, yoghurt, sour cream, pizzas, ad nauseam – all loaded with animal products or with animal by-products, such as whey and casein, of the dairy/cheese industry.

And then there is Public Television, boasting about not airing commercials, when it is really beholden to “sponsors” – commercials in disguise!

Is it any surprise that the gigantic pharmaceutical industry’s ads are everywhere you turn? Physicians report that patients request the meds they see advertised. And speaking of physicians, have you noticed all the pharmaceutical industry’s promotional material in their waiting rooms, as well as the ads for medications in the popular magazines there?

It’s common knowledge that sales reps (mostly males long ago), who call on doctors, are now attractive females. Gee! I wonder why?!
