"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Michael Vick Dog Fighting Scandal – 19 July 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

Hearing the news about the Michael Vick dog fighting scandal in Virginia, I thought about all the billions of animals tortured worldwide, round the clock. When are humans going to stop this insane, disgusting tyranny of God’s creatures?

The evils of greed and sadism are rampant in this fallen world, and animals who cannot speak for themselves are victimized for food, fur, entertainment, biomedical research, etc. In an attempt to justify animal exploitation, we humans have been fed so much misinformation (“lies” would be more accurate) all our lives.

It’s time to set the record straight. If only this latest celebrity-associated atrocity picked up by the media would outrage enough people to “make the connection”: That all animals have the God-given right to their own lives without human interference.

So many people ask. “What can I do?” For a start: Go Vegan!
