The Modern Samaritan: Poetry and Music By Andrew Pell and Mark Edgemon

He looks within his soul and seems
To go about his day.
He seeks to define himself through his dreams
Like others who have gone astray.

He thinks not of himself or riches at hand
He listens to what God has to say.
Everything through him is divinely planned.
Divine inspiration comes into play.

The first man is dead from the inside out
For he spends his life self-sin...tered.
The second man is giving and without a doubt
Reflects The Lord in splendor.

The second man reaches out in love
To help a neighbour or beggar.
His action ascends to the very throne above.
His compassion reaches far.

The difference between the evil and the good
Depends on where one delves.
The righteous serves God the way they should
The wicked pleases themselves.

Let us all focus on what is right
Rather than what is wrong.
If we all act in love our future is bright
Heaven will rejoice in song.
