 Wondrous Spirits
by Susan [email protected]

Quiet and sudden like the wind they appear,
graceful white creatures appear, very near.

With long tall necks and legs so high,
the reason they're here does so mystify.

One, two, three, four...,
I wait and watch, but there are no more.

Quickly as they do appear,
their enchanting beauty dispels any fear.

Across the yard so gracefully slow,
wings fan out until they flow.

Atop brilliant white feathers nestles a glow,
and yet, why they're here, I'm not sure I want to know.

Unspoken words and a sense to behold,
their reason for being has yet to be told.

As I watch with wonder, a message becomes clear,
they've come to welcome, someone very dear.

As Saintly guards they will open the gate,
and bless the trip thus fulfilling our fate.

As swiftly they come and swiftly they go,
the intent is clear from the comfort I now know,
the miracle is real and Heaven is so.
