On The Job For God

“Not every one that saith unto me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21)
Fellow Christians, it is of utmost importance that we mature into
saintly, holy children of our Father, and vital citizens of His heavenly
Kingdom as it is manifest on earth NOW. The authentic citizens of the
heavenly Kingdom are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit radiates
from them and directs their paths, and empowers them to do the will of the
Father so much more fully. These citizens seek and faithfully follow
the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their thoughts, motives, and actions on
an on-going basis. Therefore, their lives as lived have holy, eternal
significance – ultimate meaningfulness.
In order to be such an empowered Kingdom citizen, a person needs to put God
truly at the forefront of his or her life. Any sinning has to be done
away with pronto!! The person needs to put in-depth seeking for a
close relationship with God, for the Kingdom, and for righteousness of first
priority. Love, compassion, integrity, and enthusiasm need to grow and
to fill the person. No “cheating” allowed!
Notice that the above Bible verse speaks of DOING the will of God. God
has so much for mature, committed Christians to do! We need to be “on
the job for God” anywhere, everywhere, at all times. Even if we are
doing extremely mundane tasks such as washing dishes, we can be doing that
for our Father. When we go through the check out stand at the
supermarket we can ask our Father to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through
us to the checker, for example. In our attitudes and treatment of
humans and animals we unfailingly exhibit true caring, kindness, and
gentleness. We honor God’s creation by actively taking care of the
earth and not trashing it, as much as possible. We have given up a
worldly lifestyle in favor of a holy lifestyle, which affects all our
attitudes, activities, and involvements. We can be trusted because we
are truly trustworthy.
Oh, yes, God does expect us to grow to be truly holy as He is holy. We
are to grow to be more and more like Christ, for real!! Our Father
wants to use us to make a real difference in this “crazy” world out there.
The animals, especially, desperately need us to be radiating Chris likeness
to help change cold hearts and decrease their pain and suffering.
Being saved is just the first step. There is a great deal of spiritual
growing to be accomplished after salvation. The part we can play IS
terribly important, so we should not be complacent and waste time. We
all need to GET ON WITH IT!!! Shine daily!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and
glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)
