From the News 12 website:

Thousands of Westchester residents participate in annual March of Dimes walk

(04/30/06) WHITE PLAINS - Thousands of Westchester residents took part in the annual March of Dimes Walk America fundraiser on Sunday in White Plains.

Sue Barjak says taking part in the eight-mile walk is the least her family can do to repay the March of Dimes. She says if it wasn't for the organization she doesn't know what would have happened to her twins. They spent three months in the intensive care unit and were given a life-saving drug that the March of Dimes helped to develop.

But another group showed up to protest. Protestors say there are better organizations to support that also do birth defect research and don't test on animals, unlike the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes says it uses the strictest guidelines when it comes to using animals in research. They add the majority of studies are done on rats and mice.
