Tuckahoe, N.Y.: Racinos are spending millions of dollars on TV commercials touting themselves as saviors of schools.

The scandal-plagued New York Racing Association was taken over by Gov. Cuomo because of a dramatic spike in the number of breakdowns and fatalities of horses. This was coupled with the fact that NYRA, with the knowledge of its senior executives, had improperly shortchanged bettors of millions of dollars. Our children deserve better than to be used as window dressing to cover up cruelty and corruption.
