'Westchester4geese Meets with County Officials - News 12'

The controversy began last summer when Westchester officials euthanized hundreds of geese. (February 20, 2013)

ARDSLEY - Animal advocates and county parks officials say they are making progress in discussions on Westchesters geese problem.

Both sides met in Ardsley today, where they say they had a constructive exchange of ideas.

The controversy over the geese population began last summer when unwanted geese droppings became a major issue. County officials took drastic action by euthanizing the animals. The meat was then used to feed the homeless.
County officials say that while euthanization is not entirely off the table, they are attempting more humane options to handle the issue.
