A Prayer for Geese Everywhere

PLEASE CONSIDER OFFERING A LITTLE PRAYER FOR THE GEESE EVERYWHERE WHO FACE SUCH NEEDLESS, POINTLESS PERIL.

At various times during the day, before meals, at noontime, before bedtime, please take a moment to join together to pray for our geese, and for all the animals...and even that the heart of people like Mayor Norman Rosenblum turn away from a desire to destroy and instead allow compassion and decency to change him.

As some of you may know, the new Pope has chosen to take the name of St Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of the Animals.  Each autumn, many houses of worship hold a 'Blessing of the Animals' in honor of St Francis' love for all the feathered, finned and furry beings that share this earth.

Prayer for Animals

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals, especially for animals who are suffering; for animals that are overworked, underfed and cruelly treated; for all wistful creatures in captivity that beat their wings against bars; for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry; for all that must be put death. We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals, and so to share the blessings of the merciful.
                           ~ Albert Schweitzer

There is also a lovely website where prayers for the animals can be placed:
http://prayersforpets.org/

Scripture such as Psalms can be part of prayer as well.

As always, our sincerest thanks to you all for helping those who cannot speak for themselves.
