The lies flow

Published in the TIMES HERALD RECORD www.th-record.com 6/6/06:

Of course racehorses would rather die than not run ("Barbaro deserves to be remembered" Times Herald Record 5/23). All animals prefer to be exploited, as we're frequently reminded: Circus elephants love to stand on their heads (it's perfectly natural behavior for them), rodeo animals love being yanked, dragged by ropes having their heads twisted and straps cinched by their genitals to make them "buck" (at least they're not in the slaughterhouse!) ... even pit bulls can't wait to fight each other (especially the ones I saw being thrown at each other by "humans," especially the one with his jaw ripped off who had to be euthanized ... especially the one dying in a pool of blood while the "humans" cooked dinner).

I could go on and on. We've heard every single rationalization in the book. As long as "humans" want to assuage their guilt over the vicious way they treat other living beings, the lies will flow like water. Folks, please use your brains to intelligently assess the claims of the Record and other animal abusers who have a vested interest in keeping things status quo.
