Bull Riding Harms Animals
Published in AM NEW YORK (www.amny.com)
26 Jun 2006
Regarding your photo of a steer at Madison Square Garden to promote their upcoming
bull riding event: You should have had a photo of these animals packed into
hot boxcars without food or water (dont want them making a mess) on their
way to this event.
You should have had a photo of the animal being hit with an electric prod,
having his tail yanked and twisted and being hit with poles to make this
peaceful animal appear 'wild' in the chute.
You should have had a photo of the filthy 'cowboy' yanking a strap cinched
tightly near the steer's genitals to make him 'buck'.
And you should have had a photo of the cowboy monster kicking the animal as
he lies on the ground unable to get up.
The Professional Bull riders Association didn't supply you with those
pictures? How surprising. I have them. Let me know when you plan to publish
them--I'm sure you and the rest of the media are eager to show both sides of
this miserable, archaic cruelty-fest that 'Dominion' author Matthew Scully
calls "Americas answer to bullfighting."
