Letter From Dana - 6 Dec 2005 (our response is below): Thank you for "Peta's Guide to Letter Writing". I've always wondered if
one person can really make a difference- but I've got to try- there are too
many animals suffering needlessly because most people are not even aware
this torture (traps/factories/lab experiments) exists. Best, Dana Hi Dana, Thank you for your kind note. There is a quote by anthropologist Margaret
Mead well-known in the animal protection community: "Never doubt that a
small group of thoughtful, concerned and dedicated people can make a
difference - indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." An assemblyperson shared this with me: he was supposed to vote on a bill
but hadn't gotten any feedback from constituents; the one letter he did
receive influenced his vote favorably. Don't ever, ever feel that your
efforts are in vain. It is unfortunate that it takes so long to see positive
change...but don't give up, the animals need you, they have "no voice and no
choice." If you look on our homepage, you'll see a list of some things we've
been able to accomplish with only a tiny group of people - all of whom
refused to give up in the face of all odds. Please feel free to contact us at any time. All best wishes, ANIMAL DEFENDERS OF WESTCHESTER Fair Use Notice: This document may contain
