Feeding a misconception

Published in the NY Daily News
August 4, 2011

A Daily News article blames kindhearted people who feed strays for the homeless animal population ("City working on groundbreaking trap-neuter-return feral cats plan," July 31). Feeding homeless animals does not increase their numbers. While spay/neuter programs are invaluable, they are not always an option, and we don't want to tell people to stop being kind. Feeding the needy is always a blessing - for the recipient and the giver.
