A fellow animal

Tuckahoe, N.Y.: The Maryland coyote wasn’t “menacing,” he wasn’t “ugly” and he wasn’t “caught roaming” (“Menacing coyote caught roaming Maryland beach was actually someone’s pet: cops,” NYDailyNews.com, Aug. 28).

The coyote was walking around, period.

When animals are violently shoved into cages, they often show their teeth because they are afraid and that is their defense mechanism. It’s shameful to make him sound like some intruder intent on committing a crime. Don’t assist the war on wildlife with inflammatory rhetoric that will assure even more innocent animals — who have the right to live on this earth just as we do — are needlessly slaughtered.
