From Forrest Aldrich - 27 Apr 2005

Hi there,

What can we really do to affect this process. It's as if we're up against a huge bureaucracy and nothing we do or say will really make a difference, or at least that's how I feel the situation is.

Dear Forrest:

When we look at the scope of the atrocities being committed upon animals, it can be very frustrating. But we need to remember that many people probably felt just as frustrated with child labor and slavery, but today there are laws against both.

Since we first began our efforts to peacefully end the suffering of animals, we have seen some real positive strides to end the cruelty. There are now felony cruelty laws in many US states and in other countries, though at the present time they exclude farmed animals. Israel just ended the practice of forced feeding of birds, and California will be phased out in 2012. Florida has banned crates in pig farming, as have other countries.

The key to all of this has been the increase in public awareness. We believe that most of it has been over the Internet. Recent and past history has shown us once the public become informed about the truth about the cruel treatment of animals, just as happened with humans, they demand an end to it. This is why it is so important that we not lose hope, but continue in our efforts to inform the public and ask everyone to join our efforts to end the suffering and cruelty inflicted upon animals. You can make a positive difference! You can also refer people to our web site so that they can see for themselves.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
