Moo-ving people toward compassionate living
From Roxanna Reed - 20 May 2005
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman:
Thanks for the reply. I can see where the problem is now. I don't really have a good solution though I wish I did. I will continue to pray for you and that the cruelness is at least lowered greatly.
I would wish for it to stop all together but until God returns man will continue to do evil. You cannot stop it totally. There will always be someone who will continue in the evil way. But that is no reason to give up, I suppose. I do enjoy meat as do many, but I do hate the way they were killed. At the very least I don't like the living conditions.
I can only think of one thought, but it is probably not a very good one. If you say that they are pressured then maybe not buying their meat would help. But instead of never buying it, maybe you could try to get enough people to help you pressure by saying this to them - You and many others will not buy their produce unless they change their treatment of the animals. Change the pressure to unhappy and potential customers.
After all, if you do not buy it they lose great money, yes. But if you tell them that and then suggest a way out of losing money they might think about it. After all shouldn't all business people know that one of the most important things is to keep the customers happy?
I guess my suggestion is kinda dumb but I was only trying to help. I hope you find a good way of ending this. Bless you both for your cause.

Thank for this suggest, too, but unfortunately is has turned into an advertising gimmick called free-range. The animals suffer just as much and are slaughtered in the same plants. This is why we believe the only way to stop the cruelty is to totally stop the flow of cash.
And, the farmers who change to growing plant foods, will make even more money than they ever did raising animals.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
