Moo-ving people toward compassionate living
From Sophie Williams – 26 Jun 2005
My name is Sophie Williams. I am doing a speech on animal cruelty for school. I went onto this website and it absolutely horrified me.
Since a bit before Christmas I stopped eating red meat and chicken. I hate the way these animals are treated, is there anything else I can do? I would absolutely love to help.
I have grown up with many animals, rabbits, dogs, birds, fish, chooks, and cats. Recently I lost my rabbit, which I had for 8 years. It was one of the saddest things in my life. Now I know that he had an excellent life, he had the whole backyard to roam around in and was very chubby.
When I saw this website with animals being killed and suffering I think they never had a good life, but I know there is something i can do to help to stop these acts of violence and give these animals the chance to live. As much as I would want to adopt every single animal in pain, I cannot. But there has to be something I can do to give these animals a good home.
Thank you for your time of reading my letter.

Thank you very much for writing and for your desire to end the cruelty inflicted upon animals.
The most effective thing any of us can do is to politely and peacefully inform as many people as we can about the suffering of animals, and ask them to join us in our efforts to end the cruelty.
