As many of you are aware, last weekend Karen Davis,
dedicated animal rights
defender and president of United Poultry Concerns, spent the weekend
with me.
Karen was in Tampa as a guest speaker at the Florida Voices for Animals
annual "Have a Heart for the Animals" dinner. While in town, she also
did
some radio and TV work, educating others about United Poultry Concerns.
I am so pleased and proud to announce that because of
the generosity and
compassion shown by so many - Animal Rights Online subscribers, and
other
friends of animals - I was able to present a check to Karen, for United
Poultry
Concerns, for the astounding amount of $2560!!! The check, along with a
huge
card containing the names of each and every person who donated, was
given
to Karen in front of the 100 or so activists present at the dinner.
Karen was absolutely thrilled. She commented on how much
she appreciated
the incredible and successful fundraising campaign Animal Rights Online
conducted for United Poultry Concerns, and could not say "thank you"
enough!! To quote Karen, "...Susan, words are inadequate. However, you
have been absolutely wonderful to me and to the birds, and to United
Poultry
Concerns."
I would like to take this opportunity to convey my
deepest thanks to everyone
who contributed to this very worthy cause. I am so very proud to be the
president of such a fine organization, made up of so many caring and
com-
passionate people. How apparent this was from your quick and generous
response - how grateful I am to be a part of Animal Rights Online with
you!
Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our
animal friends!!!
