This week's prayer petition is for animals who are lost, abandoned or
unwanted. There were many, many animal lives lost to the flooding as a
result of Hurricane Floyd making landfall in North Carolina. Many of
them were so-called "food animals" who were destined to slaughter, and
this is an especially tragic death for them because of their prolonged
terror and suffering. So for them we pray that the lost find their way
home, that the abandoned find peace and comfort in God's mercy, that the
injured find compassionate hands, and that the unwanted be protected
from cruelty and neglect. We pray that those who lost stock animals
won't replace them with more "food animals", but with grains and other
gifts from the earth. We pray for the good people of North Carolina and
those helping them.
Please keep your prayer requests coming, and please keep
praying.
Proverbs 12:10 "A good man cares even for his beast,
but the bad man has a cruel heart."
This week's quote: "If chimpanzees have consciousness,
if they are capable of abstractions, do they not have what until now has
been described as "human rights"? How smart does a chimp have to be
before killing him constitutes murder"..
Carl Sagan
Note: For those of you who sent requests and petition
ideas, I am keeping them in a folder for a later date. I will use them
soon. Thank you for sending them.
