I came home after a long hard day at work knowing that
there was going to be an even longer and harder night at this keyboard,
to find my neighbor on her patio. She greeted me with the words:
"My children and I are going vegetarian!"
What????????!!! Is this the same woman that I have heard
so many times say......."I love chicken wings"......"I couldn't give up
meat"........"I could eat a big fat juicy steak".....etc. I don't think
so! I had to take a second look to see if it was really her.
I have approached her several times over the past few
years about the benefits of a vegetarian diet, and I really thought it
was going in one ear and out the other. I asked her what prompted this
decision and she told me that she had heard about the horrors of what is
fed and injected into dairy cows and food today.
She went on to name various products such as Rice Dream,
Veggie Patties, etc. that she just went out and bought. I wanted to hug
her!
I guess the moral of this story is...........if at first
you don't succeed, try and try again.
Sometimes we feel like we are fighting a losing battle
spreading the word to folks that don't appear to be listening. But as I
have heard so many times, it can take several attempts to educate on
such issues so don't give up! The animals need you!
