AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR � People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is looking for an outreach coordinator for its Norfolk, Virginia, headquarters to help promote animal rights issues and vegetarianism in the African American Community.

The candidate must have good contacts within and an understanding of African American culture. The candidate must also have a thorough knowledge of animal rights issues, be out-going, and have the ability to communicate with a variety of people. Some travel is required. CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR (SPANISH-SPEAKING) � People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is looking for a Spanish-speaking campaign coordinator for its Norfolk, Virginia, headquarters to work with and reach out to the Hispanic community on animal rights issues and vegetarianism. The candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish and have an understanding of Hispanic Culture. The candidate must also have a thorough knowledge of animal rights issues, be out-going and personable, and have the ability to communicate with a variety of people. Excellent English/Spanish translation skills required. Some travel is required. Competitive salary and benefits.

CRUELTY CASEWORKER � People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) seeks cruelty caseworker with shelter or humane association work experience to assess various allegations of animal abuse reported to PETA and intervene as necessary. Caseworkers educate the public on humane treatment of animals through the development and distribution of literature and information packets and representing PETA to the media. Candidate must have strong writing, research, and organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work. Candidate must also be able to handle cruelty complaints in a professional and confidential manner. A degree in a related field is preferred. Animal Friendly. Competitive salary and benefits.

DOMESTIC ANIMALS LEGISLATIVE COORDINATOR � People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) seeks a legislative coordinator to lobby local, state, and congressional legislators with regard to legislative issues affecting animals and to mobilize PETA members and activists to contact their representatives about animal issues. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and also have good proofreading, organizational, and research skills. Familiarity with the legislative process is preferred. Animal friendly.
