In Reference to: 13 April 2008 - When Is a Church Not a Church?
Frank,
I greatly enjoyed your sermon, posted recently on the website. Nice, catchy start ("when is a Church not a church?") - and solid arguments, supported well by Scripture. You had me riveted!
I particularly enjoyed your descriptions of Jesus "loving" people to God; and telling disciples to dust off their feet and move on where not yet welcome. I found this inspiring.
I couldn't help but thinking that so many live in this paradigm of scarcity and unhealthy competition, as Steve described in his essays borrowing from Girard. If only more people knew that that paradigm, through the love of Christ, could be replaced by one of abundance; a paradigm where the higher energies prevail. A vegan lifestyle is a lifestyle of abundance, not asceticism.
