In Reference to: 18 March 2012 - Why Should People Abstain From Flesh Foods?
As you mentioned, we need to remember that the Exodus took place in this corrupted world, after the people had already resorted to killing and eating animals, and God and/or Moses seems to be just using their own evil ways of showing them the truth of His power and might. See Jesus' comments on marriage and divorce in Matthew 19 for a parallel discussion of the difference between God's intent and what Moses allowed.
God's original intent had not changed. Then, when God gets them out of Egypt and into the Sinai, He once again provides them with a vegan diet, in the form of manna. His intent was clearly no more killing.
It not that we are trying to force the Bible to say anything, it only that we are trying to get back to God's creation and heavenly intent as Jesus taught us to pray for in Matthew 6:10, and remember that a lot of the English translations were done by people who were already killing and eating animals, and their translations do not always reflect the original Hebrew meaning.
We hope this helps, and we're always here to help in any way we can.
We hope this helps
In the Love of the Lord,
