A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Happy New Year – 1 January 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

It’s early Monday morning, it’s raining outside, and it’s the start of a brand New Year.

It’s also the day of reckoning for all those who made New Year’s resolutions. One of the most popular resolutions is the one to lose weight – a 40 billion dollar business, according to a recent news report.

A better resolution would be to Go Vegan. That way not only would people lose weight and gain health, they would save money and billions of animals from horrific suffering.

So, if you haven’t discovered the joy and freedom of going vegan, and if you’re tired of all the fad diets and gimmicks designed to enrich the “diet industry,” do yourself a favor and turn to: http://www.all-creatures.org/health.html and click on “Health References” for solid guidance in making the transition.

And for lots of delicious vegan recipes with photos and an ingredients directory, see: http://www.all-creatures.org/recipes.html
