"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
Even though nearly a year has gone by since I wrote “Moving a Mountain –18 November 2007,” the corruption continues to escalate. Billions of dollars continue to be spent on wars and “research scams” for “cures” of diseases – most of which are brought on by following lifestyle choices that are destructive to human health, nonhuman animals, and the environment we all share.
The title “Moving a Mountain” refers to a popular Bible passage found in Mark 11:23-24:
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. ~ King James Version
After my seventy years on this earth, and after much thought and searching, I have come to the conclusion that there is one “mountain” that is the source of most (if not all) of the ills and devastation found on our planet: our arrogance and cruelty toward other beings whom we consider “inferior.” This behavior is the opposite of what God teaches as His original (see Genesis) as well as final (see Revelation) intent for humans and other animals.
And yet it is this very “mountain” of evil that the vast majority of humans blindly support every day of their lives – lives spent eating, wearing, using in every way those whom they consider beneath them: the other animals with whom we share this small, precarious planet.
God makes it very plain in Genesis 1:29-31 that His intent is for all of His creatures to be vegan:
Genesis 1:29-31
29 Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food "; and it was so.
31 And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. ~ New American Standard Bible
In our insensitivity, brought on by constant brain-washing and lies from childhood, we humans have given lip-service to the Creator’s words and created our own warped, evil way of “life” which really glorifies death in wars and slaughterhouses alike.
We try to ignore or distort His true intent for His creation and choose instead to follow modern false prophets who promise “health and wealth” without “works.” In reality, they are promoting a god of self-indulgence. You don’t hear James 2:26 quoted in these venues very often, do you?
James 2:26
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. ~ King James Version
Just think about all the corruption in this world: Billions of dollars spent on wars and “research” (the torture of innocent animals) for “cures” of diseases originating from that very departure from God’s original intent – a departure that has resulted in a world-wide, unprecedented escalation of the murder of billions of innocent animals for “food.” I call this cannibalism! And we dare to consider ourselves superior to other animals!
If Frank and I have been able to climb out of this morass, so can every other person.
