Sunflower, Wild (Helianthus spp.) - 07
(Sunflower, Wild (Helianthus spp.) - 07) In this photo we can get a closer look at the central or disc flowers of the wild sunflower.  Composite flowers are not single flowers, but a composite or grouping of many flowers to make what would appear to be a single larger flower.  They are members of the Aster family. The structures that look like petals are really ray flowers, and if we look closely, we can see the individual central or disc flowers.

lamb-right lamb-left Presented here are just a few of the countless components of God's creation.  Just as we cannot have human and animal life without water and plants, neither can we have lasting peace without love and compassion.  It is our hope and prayer that this series will motivate people to live and act in a cruelty-free manner; that we would no longer hurt or destroy each other, the animals or our environment.
