SACREDNESS OF BEING
©
by M. Linda Steffey
I breathe the air just as the Whale
The red-tailed Hawk, the little Quail
The mighty Condor up above
The Horse, the Deer, the little Dove;
I share the Earth with Red Man, Yellow
The lonely Wolf is also my fellow
And Cats who share my Life and Home
Mean the same to me as those who roam;
O Sacred Butterfly and Bee
And all things living in the Sea
I have like you a beating Heart
And of this Earth we share a part;
The feathered, furred, the hoofed and winged
The Coyote's wail and Birds that sing
The Sacredness that Life connects
The different colors, spots and flecks;
The inner Sacredness of Being
Made by God, all knowing, seeing..
All differences of Beauty rare
Holy, precious, in God's care...
