A SOLDIER'S DREAM
By Patrick N. Kramer
Written August 23, 2009

I had wonderful dream last night.
One of a Christmas ever so white!
I dreamed of great joy everywhere.
Oh how I wish I could be there.

I dreamed about home and much more.
Of a Christmas like never before!
I dreamed of how we decorated the tree.
Oh how I wish my dream could be.

I dreamed of you, and my mom and dad.
Of the thrills of Christmas we have had.
I dreamed of the gifts I’d give to you.
Oh how I wish my dream could come true.

I dreamed of Christmas day it is foreshore.
Of a day when soldiers; would fight no more.
I dreamed of home and peace on earth.
Oh I wish the world would learn of Christ’s birth.

Yes I dreamed of a Christmas ever so white.
Of the star in the heavens shining so bright!
I dreamed I was home sharing it with you.
For I dreamed of Christmas it is true.
