Fur Friend
By J. London

I weep for foxes all aglow
in midnight air no fur to show.
I weep for angels overhead
that see destruction gone unsaid.
I weep for us who knowingly
do wrong around a cherub's tree.
When will time
heal all their wounds
the ones bekempt, inflicted with doom?
"Poor, poor souls" I cry to sleep
they haunt me now with no retreat.
I must do as all my will
allows me to, to free the ill.
I'm sorry creatures of the night
I'll do all I can to make things right
Fear not, fur friends
I'm here for you
through tears of mine
I'm tried and true.
