Running with the hares, and hunting with the hounds, is unwise,
It’s a practice that’s akin to, pretence, deceit, and lies.
It’s not something one should do, for transparent we should be,
Letting all know where we stand, living true and honourably.

By all means, be friends with all; just don’t play games or politics;
For one who acts so foolishly, others’ trust in them soon wrecks.
Such will simply cause problems, and ourselves can badly burn,
And such unsound behaviour, many quickly can discern.

Running with the hares, and hunting with the hounds, weakness displays,
And confidence placed in us, such behaviour, just betrays.
It’s never to their credit, when folk play this foolish game,
For they lose their integrity, and upon themselves bring shame.

People who’ve integrity, and who’ve learnt to stand alone,
Politicking and game-playing, have no desire to hone.
Such folk call a spade a spade, do things openly and right,
Face up to controversy, and, use wisdom mixed with foresight.

Let’s not play these silly games, that problems, simply double,
Yes, games that, sooner or later, bring about more trouble.
Nobody likes a person, they can’t trust behind their back,
So, let’s avoid behaviour, that friendships, splinter and crack.

Relationships are precious, and should be treated with great care,
So, always act impartially; always seek to do what’s fair.
Let your every yes be yes, let your every no be no,
Let all know your intentions, so seeds of distrust won’t grow.

Sadly, many play with others, just like children play with toys,
Which, confidence in others, invariably, just destroys.
It’s thoughtless, and it’s selfish, and the ones who act this way,
One day may suffer also, should someone likewise, with them play.
