HOPE
By M. Linda Steffey

How precious you are,
A child of God
Who opens arms to the world
Fair skin or brown
Live in country or town
With hair straight or curled...

How precious you are
A child of God
Who cries aloud to the earth
Whether rich or poor
Good or bad to the core
It is God who knows your worth!

How precious you are
A child of God
Who laughs aloud with joy
Born hindered or whole
It is Spirit and Soul
God cares about, girl or boy!

How precious you are
A child of God
Whether here or there you live
It is my prayer
Life treats you fair
To you, a better world we give!

How precious you are,
A child of God
He gives you patience to cope
A long life to live
Your heart learns to give
Have empathy, compassion, and hope!
