ONE LAST WISH
By Brennan Browne

I'll come home to You Lord
On that appointed day.
And when I have transitioned
I have but one request,
Kindly let me reunite
With those I've loved the best.
It's not my Earthly Mother
Or Father o' which I speak,
But those the world's forgotten
Stripped of all their dignity
And tossed into a heap.
I want to spend eternity
Holding those who suffered most
Who lived and died without kind touch
And now must be repaid
For the torture and indifference
Mankind upon them laid.
I need to ease their suffering
And wipe away their tears
And gently let them understand
Not all humans should be feared.
But more than this I need the comfort
Which these sweet souls provide
To heal my aching broken heart
For the love they were denied.
