This planet that we live on, we’ve treated very badly,
In fact, there are those who’d say, that we’ve just acted madly.
The air we breathe we’ve poisoned, seas and lakes polluted too,
And wrecked havoc on the land, all which we’ve now cause to rue.

Why have we been so foolish, and this lovely planet messed,
For surely everyone knows, you don’t foul up your own nest.
Once we have burnt our bridges, there can be no turning back,
So, before there’s no hope left, let’s not further earth attack.

We can’t exchange this planet, for another that’s brand new,
But, given our track record, we’d just mess up that one too.
We’ve only got this planet, so forget trips to the moon,
And we’d better act quickly, lest calamity hits soon.

It really is that urgent, for this planet’s in a state,
The damage we’ve inflicted, I’m afraid is very great.
This planet’s reeling badly, from assaults upon its crust,
Hence it needs much repair work, and repair it, we all must.

The future generation, could be terribly affected
By dreadful catastrophes, scientists have predicted.
They’ve warned us such will happen, if we don’t act right away,
And stop the things we’re doing, that are causing earth’s decay.

But despite our best efforts, the reality we face
Is that we may not succeed, for this earth’s a sorry case.
Most have chosen to ignore, just how serious things are,
Hence the damage that’s been done, that may now have gone too far.

However, we must do, every single thing we can,
To decelerate and halt, the disastrous work of man.
There will be no hope at all, if we don’t act right away,
So, let’s all pull together, not tomorrow, but today.
